How Wrotebook works

Nothing during the beta. You can make and read books at no charge, within daily limits designed to stop scripts, not readers. Wrotebook may introduce paid plans after the beta; if it does, every book you've already made stays yours.

Describe the book in a sentence, or add notes and preferences if you have them. Wrotebook designs the whole book first (premise, structure, a plan for every chapter, and the facts that must stay true), then writes it chapter by chapter while you read along. Between chapters you can steer: more of a character, a change of pace, a different direction.

By default, a one-to-two-hour read of 8 to 12 chapters. You can also choose a two-to-four-hour or four-to-six-hour book. Length is set by reading time because most people don't finish long books, and a book built to be finished is a better book.

A chat assistant works one reply at a time, so planning the book and keeping hundreds of details consistent is left to you. Wrotebook plans the entire book before writing, keeps a record of what is true in it (names, facts, promises made to the reader), writes each chapter against that record, and gives you a reader to follow and steer it.

Because structure comes first. The design pass fixes what every chapter must accomplish, what the reader knows when, and which facts are canon. As chapters are written, that record is carried forward so later chapters build on earlier ones.

Read something in the library and judge for yourself — every book there was generated start to finish. The honest answer: chapters read well, whole-book consistency is the hard part, and it's exactly what we work on in the open. That's what beta means here.

You do. You can edit, publish, sell or license them without asking us. Your books are private by default, we don't train AI models on your material, and a book only appears in the public library if you choose to publish it.

Yes. From the studio you can download your book as an EPUB ebook or a DOCX document, along with its cover image.

Yes, it's yours to publish. Check each platform's AI rules first: Amazon KDP, for example, asks you to declare AI-generated content, and text drafted by Wrotebook counts as AI-generated under KDP's definition even after you edit it. That declaration is yours to make; you're also responsible for facts, permissions and anything about real people.
